(502) Bad Gateway - Unable to Sync/download updates

Overview

If you are noticing that your synchronizations are failing with the error (502) Bad Gateway, make sure you have your Proxy Settings configured and you have all your exceptions in the internet Firewall.

 

Environment

  • Patch Manager

 

Cause 

Either your proxy settings have not been configured correctly or you need to add the rules in your firewall from the Admin Guide.

 

Resolution

  1. Go to Administration and Reporting > Software Publishing and click Synchronization Settings.
  2. Click the Proxy Settings tab and ensure it is configured properly.
  3. Then go to Patch Manager System Configuration > Patch Manager Servers > Application Servers and select the Application server in the middle Pane.
  4. Click the Application Server Settings tab in the middle pane and find/confirm the Proxy information.
  5. If this is not the issue then you will want to check the Port and Firewall information in the Admin Guide.
