Overview

Exclusive to online license activation, users are unable to license Orion modules when SSLv3 and TLS 1.0 are disabled.

Environment

  • Orion Platform 2017.3 and earlier

Cause

When TLS 1.0 and SSLv3 are disabled on the Orion server, users are unable to license product modules. This includes licensing newly added Orion modules or automatically updating the maintenance expiration data for existing Orion modules.

Resolution

Users who experience this problem are encouraged to activate their licenses using the offline method. Alternatively, users can temporarily re-enable TLS 1.0 and SSLv3 on the main Orion server to activate their license keys, then disable those ciphers again.

This problem will be addressed in a future release of the Orion Platform.
