The DNS hostname is not resolvable

Overview

Error: The DNS hostname or FQDN is not resolvable. 

Environment

  • All Orion Platform Modules
  • Windows

Cause 

  • DNS Issue
  • The /etc/hosts file is not set up correctly and/or there is no entry for it, causing the hostname to not resolve to an IP address.

Resolution

  • Add the hostname/FQDN to the /etc/hosts file or change its existing entry.

On Windows systems, it is the hosts file in the %systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc directory.
