An error occurs while running the installer when trying to upgrade NPM or any SolarWinds software.
SolarWinds Orion Maintenance has stopped working.

When this issue occurs the OrionInstaller.log  (located in C:\ProgramData\Solarwinds by default) will have its last line appear similar to

2394-02-02 12:17:19,001 [1] DEBUG OrionInstallerLib.InstallActionCommand - Parsed Filename .\SolarWinds.Orion.MaintDateCheck.exe with parsed command line of

An unnecessary file in the setup folder exists that is causing the installation to fail.

Follow the below steps as a workaround:
Note: The user has about 10 seconds to copy the manifest file to another location and edit it. Then re-launch and copy within 5 seconds so the IPAM installer will continue reading the editing manifest.
1. Start the installer and edit the InstallManifest.config file.
2. Remove the SolarWinds.Orion.MaintDateCheck.ext file using the command line:
    /check:"IPAM",4.1;3 /check:Core;2013

Applies to: NPM v10.7
