Setting up file size alerts

Overview

Using SAM's basic features to achieve proper alerting for a file size that you want to monitor, you'll need the following:

  • File Size Monitor

  • Alert me when a component goes into warning or critical state

Environment

  • SAM, all versions

Steps

Configuring the application template

  1. Assign the File Size monitor template to a node.
  2. Configure the file directory and thresholds in the component monitor.

    (NOTE: Raw threshold data is collected in bytes.)

  3. Submit to apply the changes.

Configuring the alert

  1. Define what happens when the warning or critical threshold of the file size is reached.
  2. Under the summary tab, click Submit to apply the changes.
