Routing Neighbors Resource LAST CHANGE column in Orion Web Console does not match the BGP uptime in CLI

Updated December 14, 2018

Overview

When you monitor the border gateway protocol (BGP) neighbors of your router, the LAST CHANGE column value does not match the device CLI. This article explains how the Orion Platform monitors routing neighbors in your environment.

  • Orion Platform

Cause

This behavior is intended by design.

Details

Orion updates the LAST CHANGE column with the most recent DateTime it received when it polled routing neighbor information from the monitored router.

The Orion Platform does not poll the Up and Down time for BGP routing neighbors.

The following table lists the only OIDs polled by the Orion Platform for BGP routing.

bgpPeerState 1.3.6.1.2.1.15.3.1.2
bgpPeerRemoteAddr 1.3.6.1.2.1.15.3.1.7
bgpPeerRemoteAs 1.3.6.1.2.1.15.3.1.9
