Overview

This article describes how to set a blank password for an Admin account for logging in to the Orion Web Console. The Steps also enable the account if it was previously disabled.

Environment

  • Orion Platform 2018.4 and earlier

Steps

The steps cause permanent changes to the database. Back up the database before you follow the instructions.

  1. Open the Orion database in Orion Database Manager or SQL Server Management Studio.
  2. Run the following query to reset the password (set it to blank) and enable the Admin account.
    UPDATE [Accounts]
    SET [AccountEnabled] = 'Y',
        [PasswordHash]='/+PA4Zck3arkLA7iwWIugnAEoq4ocRsYjF7lzgQWvJc+pepPz2a5z/L1Pz3c366Y/CasJIa7enKFDPJCWNiKRg=='
    WHERE [AccountID]='Admin'

You can now log in to the Orion Web Console using Admin and a blank password.
