Report operating system and .NET versions on polling engines

Updated: December 4, 2018

To find out what operating systems and .NET versions are running on existing polling engines, run the Active Diagnostics test "Checking whether OS/.NET on engines match".

Requirements for running the test.

  • The remote registry is enabled on engines;
  • All engines are in the same domain;
  • The logged-in user has access to the registry.

If these requirements are not met, the test cannot determine .Net versions. In that case, the test status reflects only the OS versions check. If OS versions are the same, the test is successful. If not, the test displays a warning

Orion Platform 2018.4 and later

The warning test indicates that your Orion Platform might be affected by the following issues:

  • Issues with different versions of Orion dlls
  • Issues upon upgrade
  • Issues with nodes editing in case latest Windows updates are not synchronized on all polling engines

If the test finishes with a warning, install all latest Microsoft updates.

If the test finishes with a warning after an upgrade, consider deploying polling engines on servers with the same operating system.

To resolve issues with editing nodes, follow the steps in Unexpected website error when editing nodes in Orion Platform.
