Orion agent memory leak for SolarWinds.ServiceHost.Process

Overview

You may come across a memory leak where Orion agents have been deployed in your environment. In the windows task manager, you will find the SolarWinds.ServiceHost.Process is the culprit.

Environment

  • Orion Platform 2018.2
  • Orion Platform 2018.4 (Without Hotfix 2)

Cause

  • Plugin Issue

Resolution    

  • Development released a hotfix to prevent this issue from occurring.

 

  • For Orion Platform 2018.2, Hotfix described in this article is the only solution available to prevent the leak.

    Please contact Technical Support and reference this article so they can provide you with the hotfix and further information.

  • For Orion Platform 2018.4, Hotfix 2 is available in your customer portal and contains a permanent fix.
  • If you find the issue has not been fully resolved after installing 2018.4 Hotfix 2, Please engage Technical Support.
