Orion agent is showing 'Plugin installation Pending' for VIM updates

Overview

The server initiated agent is unable to list resources and the Installed Agent Plug-Ins page is showing the VIM status as
Installation Pending.

Environment

All Orion Platform versions

Resolution

  1. On the Orion Web Console, scroll down to the bottom and verify if the footer has VIM x.x.x.
  2. If VIM x.x.x is missing from the footer, log in to your Orion server as a local administrator.
  3. Go to C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Installers.
  4. Right-click "SolarWinds Integrated Virtual Infrastructure Monitor" and select Run as administrator.
  5. Run the configuration wizard and wait for it to complete.
  6. Access the Orion Web Console and verify that the agent is connected and you are able to list resources.
