Overview

The SolarWinds server may encounter port exhaustion and become unstable.

 

Netstat shows data similar to the below:

In this case, port 664 refers to Lsass.exe. Local Security Authority Subsystem Service (LSASS) is a process in Microsoft Windows operating systems that is responsible for enforcing the security policy on the system. It verifies users logging on to a Windows computer or server, handles password changes, and creates access tokens.

  • WMI Polling

Resolution

  • Check to ensure you have all your windows WMI accounts valid
  • Orion web console > settings > manage credentials
  • Orion web console > settings > SAM settings > manage SAM credentials
  • In this use case, the issue was an account was belonging to an older non-existent domain.
