Orion Database Resource Key 'SQLDATA_ZB0_10' was not found in Resource File 'Interface.Strings'

Updated July 7, 2017

Overview

The configuration wizard fails with the following error when upgrading to NPM 12.1:

Exception while configuring plugin Orion Core Services component. Orion Database Resource Key 'SQLDATA_ZB0_10' was not found in Resource File 'Interface.Strings'

A similar error is also found in the configuration wizard log:

ERROR ConfigurationProgressScene - Exception while configuring packages in plugin Orion Core Services component Orion Database. SolarWinds.Internationalization.Exceptions.TokenSubstException: Resource Key 'SQLDATA_ZB0_10' was not found in Resource File 'Interfaces.Strings'

Environment

NPM 12.0.1 to 12.1

Cause

The error is caused by duplicate files in the following folders:

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\Packaging\Active\Database\Prepared:
    • Orion.Interfaces.7.1.0.43.sqlpack
    • Orion.Wireless.7.1.0.39.sqlpack
    • Orion.Wireless.DeviceStudio.7.1.0.39.sqlpack
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\Packaging\Active\Website\Prepared:
    • Orion.Interfaces.7.1.0.43.webpack
    • Orion.Interfaces.7.1.0.43.webpackCompiled
    • Orion.Wireless.7.1.0.39.webpack
    • Orion.Wireless.7.1.0.39.webpackCompiled

These file versions are causing conflicts with version 8.0.0.168.

Resolution

  1. Remove the old .sqlpack files from the Database and Website folders.
  2. Rerun the configuration wizard.
