How to determine if an alert email action is successful in the Orion Platform

Overview

This article explains how to trace an email using the dbo.AlertHistoryView (View) table in the Orion Platform database. 

Environment

  • All Orion versions

Steps

  1. Log in to your Orion Platform server using the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP).
  2. Open the Orion Database Manager.
  3. Add default server.
  4. Expand the Orion instance and locate AlertHistoryView (View).
  5. Right-click the table and select Query table.
  6. Sort the TimeStamp column by clicking on the TImeStamp cell twice.
    You should see the ActionTypeID column (for example, send an email).
  7. Check the EventTypeWord value (for example, ActionSucceeded or ActionFailed).
