How to: Use IE Performance Analysis Tool

Overview

The F12 tools provide a built-in script profiler that enables you to analyze the performance of JavaScript code running in Windows Internet Explorer 9. This topic explains the features of this tool and how you can use it to check the performance of your scripts.

 

This will be used as an additional tool of reference for our DevTeam for performance issues. 

Environment

  • IE version 9 and later
  • All SolarWinds versions

Steps

  1. Open the web console using Internet Explorer.
  2. Press F12 to open Developer Tools.
  3. Select the Performance Tab and select the Play button.
  4. Browse to the web console on the affected page.
    • This will record the time frame of this page. 
  5. After replicating issue and browsing affected pages, click stop.
  6. Save the diagsession and send it to us.
