Issue:

The virtualization server monitoring using NPM fails with the error in SolarWinds Information Service logs:

Error: SolarWinds.InformationService.Core.InformationService - Exception caught 
    in method RunQuery 
SolarWinds.Data.Query.EntityNotFoundException: Source entity [Orion.VIM.Hosts] 
    not found in catalog

Cause:

The information service logs show that the schema may be affected.

Resolution:

  1. Using Windows Explorer, browse the Orion Programs folder.
    E.g. \Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\
  2. Edit the file ConfigurationWizard.exe.config in this location using Notepad.
  3. Search for the XML element <appsettings/>, and then add the element <add key="Packaging.Internal.RepairMode" value="true"/> within it.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Stop all SolarWinds Services and website - Starting / Stopping Orion Core Services.
  6. Run the Configuration Wizard choosing all the three options - Running Configuration Wizard.
