Overview

This article provides steps on how to deactivate and active Orion products during migration from the original server to the new one.

Environment

All versions of Orion products up to NPM 12.0

After NPM 12.1 then License Manager functionality was moved to the web

Steps

Note: The user will have 30 days to activate the license on the new server.

  1. Go to Start > SolarWinds > License Manager (http://solarwinds.s3.amazonaws.com/s...nseManager.zip).
  2. Deactivate all licenses.
  3. Perform the migration.
  4. Upon completion of the migration, go to Start > SolarWinds > License Manager.
  5. Activate all licenses

If the Orion server does not have access to the internet, please refer to below article to assist with offline deactivation:

If the Orion server is no longer accessible, the user will need to log a separate case to SolarWinds Customer Service to manually deactivate the license/s.
