WebinarUpcoming Webinar: Know What’s Changed – with NEW Server Configuration Monitor

Change management in IT is critical. But, even with a good change management process, changes are too often not correctly tracked, if at all. The configuration of your servers and applications is a key factor in their performance, availability, and security. Many incidents can be tracked back to an authorized (and sometimes unauthorized) configuration change, whether to a system file, configuration file, or Windows® Registry entry. Join SolarWinds VP of product management Brandon Shopp to discover how the new SolarWinds® Server Configuration Monitor is designed to help you.

An error occurs when opening Orion Report Writer, Syslog Viewer, or Trap Viewer:

CORE-9111.png

This usually occurs when TLS 1.0 and 1.1 are disabled.

Environment

  • All Orion Platform versions

Steps

  1. Install Microsoft® SQL Server® 2012 Native ClientQFE on your Orion application server: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down....aspx?id=50402
  2. On your application server, go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\"
  3. Make a backup of the file: SWNetPerfMon.db
  4. Open SWNetPerfMon.db in Notepad (as administrator).
  5. In the top-most section, probably the 4th line, it will say: ConnectionString=provider=XXXXXXXXXX. Change this to: ConnectionString=provider=SQLNCLI11
  6. Do not make any other changes to this file. Save and close the db file.
