Environment

  • All Orion Products

Cause

This is caused by the certificate not been copied over from the main polling engine to the new server.

Resolution

  1. Remote Desktop Protocol to the Main Polling Engine
  2. Run mmc.exe
  3. Click File > Add/Remove Snap-in
  4. Select Certificates > Computer account > Local Computer > Click Finish > OK
  5. Navigate to Personal > Certificates
  6. Right-click on the SolarWinds-Orion certificate and choose All tasks > Export
  7. Click Next > Select "Yes, export the private key" > Select Personal Information Exchange and include all certificates in the certification path, if possible.
  8. Create a password and save the file somewhere you can find it easily
  9. Copy certificate to additional polling engine, additional web server or HA server
  10. Double-click on the certificate > Select Local Machine > Accept the default settings > Click Finish
  11. Run the configuration wizard. It will now complete successfully.
