When NTM shuts-down it can be due to non-functioning WMI.
 
Resolution:
 
Solution #1 (Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7)
1. Press Win + R on your keyboard, type 'CMD' and press ENTER;
2. Command line will appear in new window;
3. Type 'net stop winmgmt' and press ENTER;
4. Using Windows Explorer, rename the folder C:\Windows\System32\Wbem\Repository. (For example, C:\Windows\System32\Wbem\Repository_bad).
5. Switch to command line, type 'net start winmgmt' and press ENTER;
6. Close command line;
 
Solution #2 (Windows XP SP2, simpler than #1)
1. Press Win + R on your keyboard, type 'rundll32 wbemupgd, UpgradeRepository' and press ENTER;  
 
Solution #3 (Windows Vista, Windows 7, simpler than #1)
1. Press Win + R on your keyboard, type 'winmgmt /salvagerepository' and press ENTER; 
 
Solution #4 (In case of Windows Server)
1. Press Win + R on your keyboard, type 'rundll32 wbemupgd, RepairWMISetup' and press ENTER;
 
Solution #5 (If previous doesn't help)
1. Press Win + R on your keyboard, type CMD and press ENTER;
2. Command line will appear in new window; 
3. Type 'cd /d %windir%\system32\wbem' and press ENTER;
4. Type 'for %i in (*.dll) do RegSvr32 -s %i' and press ENTER;
5. Type 'for %i in (*.exe) do %i /RegServer' and press ENTER;
6. Close command line and all windows which could appear;
 
Solution #6 (Also can try)
1. Remove .NET Framework
2. Install NTM
 
Solution #7:
  1. winmgmt /salvagerepository
