NTM discovery shows incorrect host name

Updated June 22, 2017

Overview

NTM displays the incorrect host name when running discovery.

Environment

NTM 2.2.2

Resolution

Enable the SysName Duplicate Detector in NTM.

  1. Go to \Program Files (x86)\Solarwinds\Network Topology Mapper\.
  2. Locate the following file and create a backup:
    SolarWinds.NTM.BusinessLayer.dll.config
  3. Open the file and find the following line:
    <add key="DisableSysNameDuplicateDetector" value="false" />
  4. Change the value to true.
  5. Locate other Duplicate Detectors in the same file and apply the preferred change.
  6. Rerun discovery.
