NTM: Unexpected Error

Overview

This article provides brief information and steps to resolve the following error while using NTM:

Resolution

Methods to resolve the issue:

  • Restart NTM - Restart Network Topology Mapper and try again.
  • Make sure the NTM Job Scheduler service  is running - Make sure the SWNTMJobSchedulerSvc Service (SolarWinds Network Topology Job Scheduler) is running. If it is not, restart it and try Network Topology Mapper again. 
  • Close and re-open the map - If this error dialog appeared while editing a map, close and then re-open the map and then try again.

 

If none of the above methods work:

1. Gather more information about the crash from from your log file located in  the %LocalAppData%\SolarWinds\NTM folder.

2.  Run the NTM diagnostics tool.

3. Contact the SolarWinds Technical Support team.
