Connections between switches are missing L2 information

Overview

This article addresses situations where connections between switches are missing L2 information.

All NTM versions

Workaround

  1. Back up and then open the Solarwinds.NTM.Client.exe.config file in the NTM installation directory (default location, Program Files\SolarWinds\Network Topology Mapper).

  2. Set the value of ShowRecalculationOption to True.

  3. Back up and then open the  Calculation.cfg file in a text editor (default location C:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\Network Topology Mapper\Configs\).
  4. Comment out <string>RemoveLinksToBridge</string> to look like 
    <!-- <string>RemoveLinksToBridge</string> -->.
  5. Save the file.
  6. Open your map in NTM.
  7. Right click the map and select Map > Recalculate.
