Overview

When a server reboot is done on a primary SolarWinds application server, the website is not restarting in IIS.

Environment

  • NPM v11.5
  • NPM v11.5.2

Cause

IIS is crashing and the Orion web site is unavailable.

Resolution

First make sure the IIS service is started. The website won't work if it is stopped.

  1. Check to see if IIS has started
  2. Restart IIS from either from IIS manager or from a command prompt using the IISRESET command
  3. See if you can reach the Orion web console from the server using localhost
  4. check DB settings in the websites table
  5. Confirm all IIS binding are correct
