This article goes over a known issue that can occur when the Web Console takes to respond in the browser when someone has submitted changes to an account in Orion.

NPM 11.5.3 and earlier

There is a slow parse response of the website with the settings in the database. This causes the console to process the request as a long running query that causes other queries to be impacted as well, resulting in the slow down.

This issue has been corrected in NPM v12. If you are unable to upgrade yet, then run through the following steps:

  1. Go to the directory inetpub\SolarWinds\Orion\Admin.
  2. Copy the file ModuleUserSettings.ascx.cs and place the copy on your desktop.
  3. Edit the original file of that name.
    a. Search for the line currentProfile.Save();.
    b. Cut that line and paste into the location as per the screenshot.
  4. Save the file.
  5. Repeat the issue with the accounts page and see if the original issue still persists.
