Overview

This article describes how to change the password globally in Orion for Windows servers, which are polling WMI, without losing the information of monitoring already done.

 

Every six months, there is a change on the local Windows Administrator password, so I am forced to update all Windows servers (one server at a time), I would like to know if there is a way of changing the password globally in Orion for my Windows servers (which are polling via WMI)  without losing the information of monitoring already done.  In addition, I do not want cuts of information or stop the monitoring services.

Environment

  • NPM 11.x

Steps

  1. In the Orion Web-console, click Settings.
  2. Click Manage Nodes.
  3. Under Group by, select Vendor.
  4. Click on Windows.
  5. Click the box next to Name.
  6. Click Select all Nodes (xxx).
  7. Click Edit Properties.
    Note: To enable the Change Polling Method feature, you must be using the same Polling Method (ICMP, SNMP or WMI) for all selected nodes.
  8. Click Submit.
