This article provides steps to use for troubleshooting and fixing issues with WMI Polled Node CPU Readings.


NPM 11.5


  1. Check the DatabaseProcessor and PollingController Logs via ProgramData > Solarwinds > Collector > Logs. The DataProcessor.log is 0 kb and the PollingController.log contains the following message:
  2. Go back to the Orion Web Console and get the NodeID of the WMI Polled Node. For getting the Node ID please refer to the image below:
  3. Open the Database Manager > Add default server .
  4. Expand the Database Server Name then the Database Instance: "SolarWinds Orion" > Double click on the Database Table: NodeStatistics.
  5. Execute the SQL Query (where the nodeid is same as the highlighted digits above):
    SELECT TOP 1000 * FROM [dbo].[NodeStatistics]
    where nodeid = 441 
    Note: The CPULoad shows 0.
  6. Re-install the Solarwinds Job Engine, Job Engine v2 and, Collector. Refer to How to Reinstall SolarWinds Services.
