This article describes how to adjust the logging level using the Orion Log adjuster. It may be helpful to increase the logging level or number of log files when investigating various issues using the Orion logs.

Orion Core 2013.2.1 and later

  1. Open the Log Adjuster from the Start menu > Solarwinds Orion > Documentation and Support > Log Adjuster OR from installation directory (by default C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion and search for LogAdjuster.)
  2. Select the logs or service for which you want more details.
  3. In the Control drop down, select the level required.
    - The debug gives sufficient detail.
    - It is possible to increase the Log file size and number of files.
  4. Click Apply.
  5. Recreate the issue and then check the adjusted logs.
  6. Once you have the desired logs, open the log adjuster again.
  7. Select the reset to default button and click Apply.

Please note that a number of settings are DEBUG or VERBOSE by default as of Orion Core 2017.x
