Use the Poller Checker tool

This article provides steps to use the Poller Checker tool.


All NPM versions


  1. Go to C: > Program Files (x86) > Solarwinds > Orion > PollerCheckerTool.exe.
  2. Run the executable. 
  3. Select Polling Method = SNMP
  4. Select Test On = Nodes (Or Volumes is you have an issue with Volumes)
  5. From the left most column, select the node to be assigned/supported pollers.
  6. On the second column, select which of the related components you wish to check the assigned/supported pollers.
    1. Select all related pollers or expand the components and select specific pollers as shown below.
  7. Click Detect pollers.    
    • Note: Supported pollers will be in green as shown.

    • You can view/verify the results of the Pollers by right-clicking on the green pollers follow by poll now.
    • Once you have verified and confirm, you can change or check the pollers as shown below.
    • While doing so, you will be asked whether you wish to proceed, as this action updates the content of the pollers table in the Orion database.
  8. These can be assigned by selecting the poller and clicking on Add/Replace Pollers and selecting the poller you wish to assign/unassign, by selecting the check box.
