Use Database Manager to view the SolarWinds database

Overview

This article describes how to use the Database Manager to view the SolarWinds Database.

This is a part of the Quick Orion database health check guide.

Environment

All NPM versions

Steps

  1. Navigate to the server hosting your Orion Platform product.
  2. Search for Database Manager.

    You can also start the Database Manager in the Advanced Features folder by clicking Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features > Database Manager.

  3. When the application loads, click Add Default Server.
    To connect to a non-default server, click Add Server and enter the data manually.
     
  4. Expand your database to view the tables for installed SolarWinds applications. 

You can see a tree of tables on this SQL server.

Further actions

  • To see the database details, right-click the database, and select Server details.
  • To run a query, right-click the database or the table, select New Query, paste a SQL query into the New Query tab, and run the query.
