Overview

Use AD account for all Database connection from Orion server to SQL server.

Detail

SolarWinds only supports SQL accounts so the SQL instance has to be set up in mixed mode. The domain accounts will not work on the page where it will ask you to update your database.

 

When you configure the SolarWinds Orion database, you are required to select the authentication method used by the NPM user to access the selected SolarWinds Orion database.

 

In general, SolarWinds recommends that you use SQL Server Authentication to ensure that the NPM server can always access the SolarWinds Orion database, even when it is hosted remotely on a separate server.

 

For the Database Account on the Configuration Wizard, create a new account by selecting a new account and creating a password.
