Unmanage application template or node does not execute any reset action at all

Updated December 14, 2016

Overview

Alert for Application Goes Down is enabled using default reset action (Reset the alert when condition is no longer True).

When trying to unmanage an application template or node with Down status, the alert reset happens but no reset action is being executed (for example, Send Email).

Environment

  • NPM 11.5.3
  • NPM 12
  • All SAM versions

Cause

The 'Allow alert actions for unmanaged objects' option is by default disable and should be enabled manually.

Resolution

  1. Go to Settings > Polling Settings and enable the 'Allow alert actions for unmanaged objects' option (or tick box).
  2. This will allow reset action to execute or to trigger.
