Universal Device Poller chart still shows multiple values despite being changed (edited OID) to a single leaf OID

Overview

After changing a leaf OID poller, you may find that the chart still displays multiple values instead of the single value that it is now assigned to with the new OID.  The condition described in this article is solely applicable to a Universal Device Poller that has polled an OID with multiple leaf OIDs contained within it for some period of time, and was then edited to poll one of the contained leaf OIDs.

The first image shows the data in its current state, while the second image shows the expected results, or results as seen after the fix in the Cause section of this article.

An example of the actions leading to this issue can be found in the article below:

https://support.solarwinds.com/Success_Center/New_Articles/Universal_Device_Poller_resource_displayed_in_Orion_Web_Console_shows_%222_value%28s%29%22_%28or_more%29_instead_of_the_expected_result_of_the_OID

Environment

All Orion environments

Cause

When creating a Universal Device Poller for the first time, a unique assignment ID is created which does not change after the Universal Device Poller is edited.  If the Universal Device Poller was previously a GET or GET TABLE request with multiple leaf OIDs contained within it, changing the OID of the Universal Device Poller will not flush the historical data, and the chart will still contain information for the previous OIDs.

Resolution

Delete and re-create the Universal Device Poller from scratch to show the desired graph data as seen in the example above.  For further assistance, please see the documentation http://www.solarwinds.com/documentat...mibscreate.htm.
