Issue:

An unexpected website error occurs on the Home > Virtualization tab of the SolarWinds Orion server after uninstalling the Integrated Virtualization Infrastructure Monitor (IVIM) module.

Resolution:

After uninstalling the IVIM module, complete the following steps:

  1. Delete the entire SolarWinds website. The default location of the SolarWinds website is c:\InetPub\SolarWinds by default.
  2. Go to Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Configuration and Auto-Discovery, and run the Configuration Wizard to redeploy the SolarWinds Orion website. For more information, see Completing the Orion Configuration Wizard.

If you experience issues on the SolarWinds Orion website after performing the previous procedure, the following additional steps may be necessary:

  • If an unexpected website error occurs on the Home > Virtualization tab, remove the Virtualization item from the menu bar.
    1. Go to Orion Settings > Customize Navigation & Look > Customize Menu Bars.
    2. Under the Admin menu bar, click Edit.
    3. Remove Virtualization from the list of Selected items, and then click Submit.

  • If you encounter errors on certain views in the SolarWinds Orion website, remove the remaining virtualization resources from the view.
    1. Click Customize Page on the affected view.
    2. Select the virtualization resources from the resource list, click X (Delete), and then click Done.
