Overview

Unable to view Syslogs on the Web Console. The following error is received:

 

Unexpected Website Error

c:\intepub\SolarWinds\Orion\NetPerfMon\Syslog.aspx(77): error CS0433: The type 'ASP.orion_controls_severitycontrol_ascx' exists in both 'c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Temporary ASP.NET\root\0ec3f749\70f9f2bb\App_Web_re2ldi14.dll' and 'c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\FrameWork\v4.0.30319\Temporary ASP.NET Files\root\0ec3f749\70f9f2bb\App_Web_tjksjtpe.dll'

Environment

All Orion versions

Cause 

This is due to the corrupted data in the .NET cache.

 

Resolution

Warning:

  • Consult your System Administrator before performing the following procedure.
  • Save a copy of the original files to your local drive as a backup file, in case you need to roll back later.

 

  1. Stop IIS:
    1. Open CMP prompt as administrator.
    2. Run the following command:
      iisreset -stop
  2. Delete .NET Cache files from the following directories:
    1. c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files
    2. c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Temporary ASP.NET Files
    3. c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files
    4. c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\Temporary ASP.NET Files
  3. Start IIS:
    1. Open CMP prompt as administrator
    2. Run the command below
      iisreset -start
  4. Navigate to the Syslogs view of the Web Console. You will now be able to see the Syslog data.
