Overview

This article describes how to resolve the following error that appears when a web-based report is modified or created in NPM 11.5.3:

Unexpected Website Error

Guid should contain 32 digits with 4 dashes (xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx). Couldn't store <selectItem> in RefID Column. Expected type is Guid.

 

Environment

NPM 11.5.3

Cause 

The Web Console automatically adds an empty or false Group results by: or Sort results by: option the next time the user clicks the mouse anywhere. This occurs when adding columns to a web-based report and the user clicks Submit before removing the empty or false box.

Resolution

  1. On the Orion Web Console, go to Reports > Manage Reports.
  2. In the Group by menu, select Report Origin > Web-based.
  3. Select the report and click Edit Report. 
  4. After the Group results by: or Sort results by: option is displayed, click on any empty space. The empty/false box should appear.
  5. Delete the empty/false box. 
  6. Click Submit.
