Overview

This article provides  brief information and steps to resolve the issue when SAM or NPM environments do not load iFrames.

If you are trying to load iFrames in a SAM/NPM environment, they appear blank. However, you can view them locally from the Orion Server.

Environment

  • SAM version 6.2 or later
  • NPM version 11.5 or later

Cause

With the release of SAM 6.2 / NPM 11.5, there was a change in the website configuration to not allow iFrames to be displayed on computers accessing the console from different domains.

Resolution

  1. Go to the Orion Server.
  2. Make a copy of C:\inetpub\SolarWinds\web.config.
  3. Open the original web.config file for editing (May require administrator).
  4. Make the following change:
    1. On the section that contains <add name="X-Frame-Options" value="SAMEORIGIN" />.
    2. Change this to  <!-- add name="X-Frame-Options" value="SAMEORIGIN" / -->.
