Unable to find and edit an alert in NPM

Overview

An existing alert cannot be found in NPM:

Environment

NPM 11.5 and later

Resolution

  1. Verify that the alert is not in the Database Manager by using SELECT TOP 1000 * FROM [dbo].[AlertHistoryView] and searching for the alert.
  2. If there was a recent upgrade to NPM 11.5.X and later:
    1. Log in to the Orion server.
    2. Go to File Explorer and enter the following path: C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion
    3. Open AlertManager.exe
    4. Click Configure Alerts and deselect and delete all the alerts to prevent phantom alerts and emails from generating.
  3. Collect diagnostics, images and emails and open a case with SolarWinds Support.
