This article provides brief information and steps to resolve the issue when you are unable to add active directory group accounts to Orion. The following error also appears:

The orionweb.log shows the following errors:

WARN  SolarWinds.Orion.Web.AuthorizationManager - Warning: Checking Group membership; Account Group 'DOMAIN\1DOMAINGROUP' contained NULL SID.

The error is caused when you are unable to retrieve the SID in the DB during adding previous AD groups. 


  1. Remove the users mentioned in orionweb.log that have a NULL SID in the accounts table.
  2. If you add them back in, check the accounts table to verify the SID column is populated.
  3. Add the non-existent user mentioned.
