Overview

The status of all UCS HWH sensors show as Undefined, and then eventually Unknown when enabled.

Environment

NPM version 11.5.2

Cause

The issue is caused by slow communication to the devices.

Resolution

Note: Create a backup of your files prior to making the following changes.

Increase the timeout value for the HWH Job:

1. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\HardwareHealth\.

2.  Edit SolarWinds.HardwareHealth.Collector.dll.config by changing the following line:

<add key="HardwareHealthJobTimeout" value="0:20:00" />

Note: 0:20:00 represents 20 minutes. Change it to a higher value,  for example to 30 minutes.

3. Save the file.

4. Restart the service.
