Overview

This article provides steps to universally turn off a Topology polling. You can turn off Topology polling universally to reduce  hardware resource utilization or to bypass a Topology issue.

Environment

Orion Core 2015.1.3 and older

Steps

1. Stop all Orion services -

2. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion.
3. Select the SolarWinds.Orion.Core.BusinessLayer.dll.config file and open it in a text editor.
4. Find the Toplogy Settings string and look for <add key="TopologyEnable" value="True"/>.
    Change the value of TopologyEnable to False.
