Troubleshoot SolarWinds Orion installation issues with Active Diagnostics

Overview

This article describes how to troubleshoot SolarWinds Orion installation issue with Active Diagnostics. Active Diagnostics scans for known environmental defects and provides troubleshooting information specific to your environment and SolarWinds installation.

Environment

Orion Core 2014.1

Steps

  1. Log in to the server hosting your SolarWinds Orion installation as an administrator.
  2. Navigate to Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Documentation and Support > Orion Diagnostics.
  3. In SolarWinds Diagnostics, click the Run Active Diagnostics button. The SolarWinds Active Diagnostics window will open.
  4. Click Run Diagnostics.

When tests in a category are completed, the icon color changes from grey to green, yellow, or red. Expand the categories with red or yellow icons, and select the issue to view the error description or troubleshooting information (if available).
