Overview

This article describes how to address the issue where hostnames are truncated when viewing incoming traps in the Traps viewer on the Orion Web Console.

Environment

NPM 11.5

Cause

This occurs when the settings table in the database has CurrentValue=1 WHERE SettingID='Trap-StripDomain'

Resolution

Note: Create a complete backup of the Orion database before making any changes.

Run the following SQL query on the Orion database:

UPDATE Settings SET CurrentValue=0 WHERE SettingID='Trap-StripDomain'
