Environment

All NPM versions

Steps

  1. Remote access your SolarWinds server.
  2. Go to Start > Search > Database Manager.
  3. Highlight your database > right click and click New Query.
  4. Click Add default server > click the plus button to expand your SolarWinds database.
  5. Highlight your database again > right click and click New Query.
  6. On the expanded list of tables of your database, look for Credentials > click Query Table > then click Execute Query.
You will see all the list of credentials set on Solarwinds application. Look for the login you are looking for and take note the ID number.
  7. Go back to the top and paste this query on the QUERY 1 tab.
SELECT TOP 1000 Nodesettings.NodeID,Nodes.IP_Address,Nodes.DNS FROM [dbo].[NodeSettings] INNER JOIN Nodes on NodeSettings.NodeID=Nodes.NodeID
WHERE SettingName LIKE '%WMI%' AND SettingValue='####'
  8. Replace the Hashtags (####) with the ID number found from the Credential list.
  9. It will bring the list of nodes that this credentials are set to.
  10. Once the Node IP or Node name are determined, go back to your SolarWinds Web Console > search that node > click Edit Node > and replace now the credentials set on the Polling Method.
