Track SNMPv3 credentials that are assigned to a node

This article describes how to track SNMPv3 credentials that are assigned to a node.


  • NPM 11.5 and later


  1. Establish a remote connection to the SolarWinds server.
  2. Go to Start and search for Database Manager.
  3. Right-click your database and click New Query.
  4. Click Add default server and expand your SolarWinds database.
  5. Right-click your database and click New Query.
  6. On the expanded list of tables for your database, locate Credentials.
  7. Click Query Table > Execute Query. The lists of credentials set on the SolarWinds application are displayed.
  8. Take note of the ID number for the credentials that you are looking for.
  9. Paste the following query: (Replace the hashtags (####) with the ID number found from the credential list)
    SELECT TOP 1000 Nodesettings.NodeID,Nodes.IP_Address,Nodes.DNS FROM [dbo].[NodeSettings] INNER JOIN Nodes on NodeSettings.NodeID=Nodes.NodeID
    WHERE SettingName LIKE '%SNMP%' AND SettingValue='####'
  10. After determining the node IP or name, go back to the Orion Web Console and search for the node.
  11. Click Edit node.
  12. Replace the credentials set on the polling method.
