WebinarUpcoming Webinar: Should I Move My Database to the Cloud?

So you’ve been running an on-premises SQL Server® for a while now. Maybe you’ve moved it from bare metal to a VM, and have seen some positive benefits. But, do you want to see more? If you said “YES!”, then this session is for you, as James Serra will review the many benefits that can be gained by moving your on-prem SQL Server to an Azure® VM (IaaS). He’ll also talk about the many hybrid approaches, so you can gradually move to the cloud. If you are interested in cost savings, additional features, ease of use, quick scaling, improved reliability, and ending the days of upgrading hardware, this is the session for you.

Overview

Some Top 10 or Top 25 lists resources do not have the 'Edit' button on the resource to place custom filters.

Environment

NPM version 11.5.2

Detail

In NPM 11.5.2, all Top XX lists have the edit button for the resource. However, not all the Top 10 and Top 25 lists have the edit button.

The following list provides which Top 10 or Top 25 lists you can edit and the ones you cannot:

Top 10 lists you can Edit:

  • Top 10 Avg. Disk sec/Transfer
  • Top 10 Disk Queue Length
  • Top 10 Multicast Traffic
  • Top 10 Total IOPS

Top 10 lists you can not Edit:

  • Top 10 Errors & Discards This Hour
  • Top 10 Errors & Discards Today
  • Top 10 Interfaces by Percent Utilization
  • Top 10 Interfaces by traffic
  • Top 10 Interfaces by Relative Multicast Packet Rate
  • Top 10 Nodes by Average CPU Load
  • Top 10 Nodes by Current Response Time
  • Top 10 Nodes by Percent Memory Used
  • Top 10 Volumes by Disk Space Used
  • Top 10 Wireless Clients by Traffic
  • Top 10 Nodes by Percent Packet Loss
  • Top 10 Wireles APs by Clients Count
  • Top 10 Nodes by Average Response Time

Top 25 List you can edit:

  • Top 25 Avg. Disk Sec/Transfer
  • Top 25 Disk Queue Length
  • Top 25 Total IOPS

Top 25 List you can not edit:

  • Top 25 Errors & Discards This Hour
  • Top 25 Errors & Discards Today
  • Top 25 Interfaces by Percent Utilization
  • Top 25 Interfaces by Relative Multicast Packet Rate
  • Top 25 Interfaces by Traffic
  • Top 25 Nodes by Average CPU Load
  • Top 25 Nodes by Average Response Time
  • Top 25 Nodes by Current Response Time
  • Top 25 Nodes by Percent Memory Used
  • Top 25 Nodes by Percent Packet Loss
  • Top 25 Volumes by Disk Space Used
  • Top 25 Wireless Clients by Traffic
  • Top 25 Wireless APs by Clients Count

As a workaround, SolarWinds recommends either of the following scenarios:

  • Removing any Top 10 or Top 25 resources, and then replacing them with Top XX lists.
  • Placing a limit in the view of that page, where the page is limited to a certain group of nodes. This way, you would only see certain nodes in all the lists.
