Overview

This article addresses the following error that is displayed when editing another user's Unmanage Task Editor job:

This task was created by another Orion user and you do not have rights to open it

Environment

All Orion Platform versions

Resolution

  1. Log in to the server where the job was created.
  2. Create a new job.
  3. Go to install directory\SolarWinds\Orion\UnmanageUtility\Jobs.
  4. Open the job.xml file for the job you created. 
  5. Locate and copy the following line:
    >>    <SwisConnectInfo Server= ...
  6. Open the job.xml file for the job that was created by the other user.
  7. Locate the same line in Step 5 and replace with the copied line.
  8. Save the file.
  9. Open the Unmanage Task Editor and verify that you are able to edit the job.
