When using bootstrapper to install NPM or SAM with Orion Platform 2015.1, you must use update 3 with Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 for agent-related functionality to work. You should not experience this issue with Microsoft .NET 4.5 or higher.

If agent nodes cannot be added to Orion, or a local agent node appears down after the installation when using bootstrapper:

  1. Download and install Microsoft .NET 4.0.3 from the Microsoft website (http://www.microsoft.com/en-za/download/details.aspx?id=29053).
  2. Restart the SolarWinds Orion Module Engine.
