Overview

This article describes how to remove the Enforce password policy and Enforce password expiration message like the below:

 

2016-05-31 07:59:13,188 [127] ERROR LogoImageHandler - Unexpected error trying to provide logo image for the page.
System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException (0x80131904): Login failed for user 'oriondb'.  Reason: The password of the account has expired.

 

 

Environment

  • All NPM versions
  • All Orion versions

Steps

  1. Open SQL Management Studio.
  2. Login as SA. 
  3. Go to Security and expand the folder.
  4. Under Logins, right click on the SolarWindsOrionDatabaseUser account and click Properties.
  5. Make sure to deselect both Enforce password policy and Enforce password expiration.
  6. Run Configuration Wizard and select Database.
