Overview

This article addresses the following error that appears when entering the new SQL server information after migrating a user and the database to a new SQL server or after deleting the database assigned to the user:

The current user has not been assigned a valid default database. Use SQL Server Management Tools to create a new database, and then assign it as the default database for the current user.

Resolution

  1. Use a SQL Server Management tool such as SQL Server Management Studio Express to connect to your SQL server as an administrator and verify the following settings:
  2. The Default database field is set to your Orion database.
  3. Your NetPerfMon database is selected in the Users mapped to this login list.
  4. The Public and db_owner options are selected under Database role membership.
