The Manage Groups view displays only the header and no data

Overview

The Manage Groups view does not load fully.  It only displays the header and no data.

Environment

  • NPM v 9.5.1

 

Cause 

Many installed internet security applications will adversely affect the display of views in the web console. Microsoft's UrlScan, an ISAPI filter that allows you to restrict the kinds of HTTP requests a server is allowed to make, is one application that has been known to prevent many web console views from displaying. In its default configuration, UrlScan prevents the web console from calling the jquery.ui folder when loading some views. If UrlScan is installed on your Orion server, you have the following two options for correcting the failure to load condition.

Resolution

  • Reconfigure UrlScan to permit calls to folders with dots (.) in their names.
    1. Open the UrlScan configuration file, urlscan.ini for editing.
    2. Locate the AllowDotInPath setting, and then change it to 1.
  • Uninstall UrlScan on your Orion server.
    Note: This may be required if there are angle brackets (< or >) in any URLs called by your installation.
